Join Ryze Mobility — Build Ryze 1

We’re building a road-to-air VTOL platform for time-critical missions. If you like hard constraints, real prototypes, and engineering-first execution, we want to meet you.

Introduce Yourself

If you’re an engineer, machinist, fabricator, or hands-on builder who wants to help build Ryze 1, use the form below.

The Vision

Ryze Mobility is developing the Ryze 1—a transformable, 2-seat VTOL platform that transitions from road to sky.

  • Distributed electric propulsion (8 motors)
  • Propulsion pathways evaluated based on mission constraints (near-term power margin and reserves may require hybridized architectures; battery-electric remains a primary pathway; hydrogen-based architectures are evaluated for longer-range missions)
  • Autonomous flight envelope protection with AI-Based Dynamic Redundancy (AI BDR)
  • Compact footprint: fits in a standard parking space on the ground
  • Target performance is mission-driven and evolves as we validate assumptions through modeling, bench testing, and prototypes

We’re not trying to win a concept contest. We’re building a certifiable, defensible path to a real vehicle.

What We’re Building It For (Use Cases)

Ryze is focused on constrained, time-critical operations where reliability, dispatch speed, and controlled deployment matter.

  • Emergency Medical / Emergency Response — minutes matter; hub-based operations; high value per sortie
  • Aviation / Airport Operations — Aircraft-on-Ground (AOG) urgent parts delivery; rapid specialist/technician movement in controlled environments
  • Critical Infrastructure & Utilities — storm response, first-look inspections, downtime mitigation when road access is limited

The Hard Problems (Why Engineers Join)

This is a full-stack systems problem across structures, propulsion, controls, software, and real-world testing.

  • Transformation mechanics — sequencing, packaging, failure-safe states, maintainability
  • Hover power margin + reserves — power/energy trade-offs under maximum takeoff weight constraints
  • Distributed propulsion fault tolerance — health monitoring, thrust reallocation, controllability under degraded conditions (AI BDR)
  • Safety as an engineered system — redundancy, thermal safety, last-resort recovery provisioning, disciplined failure modes thinking
  • Validation pipeline — simulate → bench rigs → scaled demonstrator → full-scale; correlation over hype

Where We Are Today

  • Phased engineering program: Phase 0 feasibility established; Phase 1 configuration search/trade studies define mission-aligned feasibility regions
  • Scaled demonstrator in build: validating real integration (hover/transition, transformation sequencing, controls integration, repeatable test procedures)
  • McMaster University partnership: propulsion, structures, optimization, and prototype development support
  • Engineering tooling: CAD + simulation backbone, expanding into test and validation workflows

Who We Want to Meet

We’re building an early technical bench. If any of this sounds like you, reach out.

Engineers

  • Mechanical / Structures / Composites — transformation mechanism, packaging, structural design, manufacturability
  • Propulsion & Power Systems — motor/ESC integration, energy architecture trade-offs, thermal and safety margins
  • Controls / Avionics / Autonomy — flight control integration, sensing, redundancy logic, safety-critical thinking
  • Simulation / Analysis — sizing models, trade studies, correlation, test-informed model improvement
  • Test & Integration — bench rigs, instrumentation, test planning, data-driven iteration

Machinists, Fabricators, and Builders

  • Machinists / CNC / manual — making real parts that fit, repeatably
  • Fabricators / composite builders — fixtures, layups, assemblies, repairability and finish discipline
  • Prototype builders — the people who turn CAD into hardware and make it work

How We Engage (Early-Stage Reality)

Ryze is early. Engagement may start as a conversation, advising, part-time support, or contract work—then evolve as priorities and funding become concrete.

What matters most right now:

  • You can build, test, iterate, and document clearly
  • You’re comfortable with ambiguity but disciplined about safety and engineering truth
  • You want to work on something that has to work in the real world
