Build the Future of Personal Flight — Join Ryze Mobility
We're building the world's first transformable road-to-sky electric VTOL. Help us make it real.
Ryze Mobility is reimagining personal transportation with a dual-mode electric flying car that seamlessly transforms between road and sky. We're not building another concept—we're building the prototype, the flight system, and the future of autonomous mobility.

The Vision
Ryze Mobility is developing the Ryze 1—a transformable, 2-seat eVTOL that transitions from road to sky in seconds. It's electric, quiet, safe, and designed for everyday use.
- 100% electric propulsion with zero emissions
- Advanced autonomous flight systems and safety architecture
- Compact footprint: fits in a standard parking space on the ground
- Designed for everyday use—urban flights, logistics, emergency response
- Future hydrogen upgrade path for extended range
We're not just building a vehicle. We're creating a new category of mobility—one that rises above traffic, connects communities, and redefines what's possible.
Why This Matters
The world is ready for VTOL. Battery technology, composite materials, and autonomy have crossed the threshold for safe, practical personal flight.
- Urban Air Mobility is emerging—but most eVTOLs are confined to air-only operations. Ryze bridges road and sky.
- Cities are congested—and ground infrastructure can't keep up. We're building the solution that rises above it.
- Northern and Arctic logistics need innovation—clean, year-round micro-freight over rough terrain is critical.
- The EV revolution is expanding—and we're taking it vertical.
Ryze Mobility is positioned to lead this transformation. With the right technical co-founder, we'll deliver the world's first road-capable, flight-capable transforming vehicle.
Where We Are Today
- Technical design complete and validated—full engineering model of the Ryze 1 platform, including transformation mechanics and propulsion architecture
- McMaster University partnership—collaboration with Faculty of Engineering on propulsion, structural optimization, and prototype development
- Flight control and diagnostic systems in development—UI, safety architecture, and sensor integration
- Brand and domain established—RyzeMobility.com live with waitlist and investor pipeline
- Communitech accelerator support—access to mentorship, funding pathways, and tech ecosystem
- Early investor interest—pre-seed conversations underway, grant applications in progress
We have the vision, the partnerships, and the momentum. What we need now is a world-class technical co-founder to architect and build the system.
The Role: Founding Engineer / CTO
We're looking for a Founding Engineer / CTO with deep expertise in aerospace, robotics, EV systems, or autonomous vehicles. You'll own the technical architecture, lead prototype development, and shape the future of Ryze Mobility's engineering organization.
Who You Are
- Aerospace engineer, robotics engineer, or EV systems architect with 5+ years of hands-on experience
- Deep knowledge of VTOL dynamics, electric propulsion, or autonomous flight systems
- Experienced in mechanical design, structural analysis, or control systems
- Proficient in CAD (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or similar) and simulation tools
- Passionate about pushing the boundaries of what's possible in mobility
- Entrepreneurial mindset—comfortable with ambiguity, iteration, and rapid prototyping
- Strong communicator who can translate technical complexity into compelling narratives
Bonus Points
- Experience with eVTOL, UAV, or drone development
- Background in electric powertrains, battery systems, or hydrogen fuel cells
- Prior startup or founder experience
- Published research or patents in aerospace, robotics, or autonomy
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (Transport Canada, FAA, EASA)
What You'll Build
As Founding Engineer / CTO, you'll define and execute the technical roadmap for the Ryze 1. Your work will directly shape the future of personal flight.
Core Responsibilities
- System Architecture—design the end-to-end propulsion, control, and transformation systems
- Flight System—develop fly-by-wire control, envelope protection, and autonomous navigation
- Transformation Mechanics—engineer the road-to-sky transition sequence and mechanisms
- Safety Model—implement advanced redundancy systems, fault tolerance, and recovery mechanisms
- Prototype Hardware—lead fabrication, assembly, and testing of the first Ryze 1 prototype
- Cockpit Interface—build the digital twin, diagnostics, and pilot interface
- Testing & Validation—coordinate wind tunnel testing, scale models, and ground-based trials
- Partnership Coordination—work directly with McMaster University labs and future suppliers
You'll have the freedom to build from first principles, make architectural decisions, and define the technical DNA of Ryze Mobility.
What We Offer
- Founder-level equity—meaningful ownership in a high-potential startup
- Co-inventor and patent authorship—your name on the breakthrough technology
- Technical ownership—full autonomy over architecture, tooling, and execution
- Future leadership of engineering + R&D—grow into CTO and build the team as we scale
- Direct collaboration with McMaster engineering labs—access to world-class research facilities and talent
- Opportunity to define the industry—speak at conferences, publish research, and shape the narrative
- Flexible, mission-driven culture—we move fast, iterate boldly, and prioritize impact over bureaucracy
This is a once-in-a-career opportunity to build something that doesn't exist yet—and help millions of people experience the freedom of flight.
A Message from the Founder
"I've spent years imagining what personal flight could look like—not as a distant sci-fi dream, but as something we could build today with the right team and the right technology. Ryze Mobility is my commitment to making that vision real. We're not building another drone or another prototype that sits in a hangar. We're building a transformable, road-capable, flight-capable vehicle that people will actually use—to skip traffic, connect communities, and explore the world in ways that weren't possible before.
I'm looking for a co-founder who sees the same future I do. Someone who's ready to roll up their sleeves, solve hard problems, and build something extraordinary from the ground up. If that's you, I want to hear from you. Let's build the future of mobility—together."
- Joshua Lombardo-Bottema, Founder & CEO
